Gayle Alberda, assistant professor of politics, and Jocelyn Boryczka, professor of politics, will speak in a program titled "In Democracy We Trust?" about how voter laws affect the outcome of the election, as well as the current distrust in American politics.
The Brown Bag Lunch and Lecture is planned from noon 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the museum, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield. Cost is $5 for museum members and educators and $8 for nonmembers. Students are free.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Iced tea and cookies will be served.
Alberda plans to focus her comments on how the legal process, including voter ID laws, can influence an election. Boryczka’s talk highlights the premise of her book, "Suspect Citizens: Distrust in American Politics," which looks at how women often are framed as suspect citizens.
